About Richie Towell
Richie Towell is a professional footballer whose career stands as a testament to talent, determination, and a relentless drive for success. With experience in Ireland, the UK, and European competitions, Richie brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise and passion to the game.
After the grassroots of Dublin, Richie began his professional journey in Scotland, playing in the Scottish Premier League for Celtic and Hibernian FC, before making his mark in England. Competing at the highest levels, he played in the English Championship with Brighton & Hove Albion and Rotherham United, as well as in Leagues One and Two with Rotherham United and Salford City.
At home, Richie has achieved incredible success, winning the League of Ireland Premier Division five times—twice with Dundalk and three times with Shamrock Rovers. While at Dundalk, he also added an FAI Cup victory to his list of accolades.
Richie’s career highlights include competing on the European stage, where he reached the UEFA Europa League group stages twice with Shamrock Rovers, going head-to-head with some of Europe’s elite clubs.
With a career defined by perseverance and excellence, Richie Towell is more than just an accomplished footballer. He serves as an inspiring role model for aspiring players in Ireland, sharing his passion for the game and his dedication to the development of Irish football.
